Serie A side AC Milan are planning a summer move for QPR keeper Julio Cesar, according to Corriere della Sera.
Cesar joined QPR last summer, saying “I believe QPR can win the league.” He has been one of the few bright spots in a QPR side that are now battling for survival, instead.
The former Inter Milan player could be set to return to Italy as the Corriere della Sera have suggested Inter’s city rivals are keen on the keeper. Cesar has regained the fantastic form which saw him win the Champions League with Inter and hold regular place in Brazil’s starting 11.
AC Milan are looking to replace current goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, who is out of contract at the end of the season. The 33-year-old Cesar is unlikely to remain with QPR if they are relegated from the Premier League, with the Loftus Road side currently seven points adrift of safety with seven matches left to play this season.
Cesar still has three years remaining on his QPR deal but the club will almost certainly allow the Brazil international the chance to return to Serie A in the summer if they do go down in order to reduce the wage bill for the Championship.
