For Arsenal, Sunday's victory sees them move within five points of WSL title rivals Chelsea and Manchester City with five games remaining, as defender Leah Williamson got more vital minutes in the tank ahead of the final run-in. The same couldn't be said for Lehmann, though, who sat out the full 90 minutes for the second game running. Her form continues to dip alongside Villa's, as that 3-1 loss marks the third defeat in four matches across all competitions – two of which have come to the Gunners.
WHAT NEXT FOR LEHMANN?
Having watched her side lose in Lehmann's absence, it remains to be seen whether Villa boss Carla Ward will recall the Switzerland international. Currently seventh, they take on ninth-placed Leicester in their next match on Saturday.
