According to Football Insider, West Ham United are in advanced talks to sign Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi before the end of the January transfer window.
The former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City midfielder is currently on loan at Galatasaray but has fallen out of favour with the Turkish giants.
According to Football Insider, West Ham have made a breakthrough in transfer talks with Roma and are becoming increasingly confident of signing the Frenchman before Friday night’s deadline.
Some of the London club’s fans would seemingly be open to the idea of the 31-year-old arriving at the London Stadium in this month’s window.
A number of others, though, are not confident when it comes to the midfielder.
Call yourself a West Ham expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?
Indeed, Nzonzi is allegedly leaning towards a switch to Rennes rather than West Ham, with a number of the Premier League side’s fans doubtful that the Frenchman will arrive before the transfer window closes for business.
The 6 ft 5 ace is actually still with Galatasaray, although the loan spell is expected to be cut short to allow him to leave Roma on a permanent deal.
Meanwhile, a number of the West Ham fans were furious with the performance of one of their players in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup.
