Sunderland could be about to lose a player before tonight’s deadline and former boss Jack Ross is at the centre of it all.

According to the Sunderland Echo, the Hibernian chief has confirmed his interest in bringing Marc McNulty to Scotland but first, he needs a chain of events to occur.

“He’s amongst a number of players we’ve been trying explore how the strong the possibility is of getting him here.”

The 27-year-old is currently on loan at the Stadium of Light from Championship outfit Reading, who will need to recall him to before shipping him off for a reunion at Hibs.

Given that there are three clubs involved in this deal, it could run right down to the wire as multiple things need to happen with less than eight hours to go before the transfer window slams shut.
