Lukaku came on as a substitue for Napoli against Parma, with Antonio Conte's side 1-0 down. The Belgium international came on just after the hour and scored in injury time to level proceedings, as he turned well in the box and rifled an effort into the bottom corner.

Napoli went into the game without Victor Osimhen, who has been excluded from Napoli's squad after failing to agree a move away in the summer, despite links with Saudi Arabia and Chelsea. Nevertheless, Napoli recorded a win without him, as Frank Zambo Anguissa scored a dramatic 96th-minute winner.
